Also! No part of the center of the bridge is a trestle bridge. The actual bridge is a Pratt deck single lane iron girder bridge, with wooden trestle approaches at both ends, and concrete viaduct at the south end beyond the wooden trestle.

The bridge lies between the cities of Santa Cruz and Monterey, California. Both of those cities are seats of their own counties. The nearest city after Santa Cruz is San Jose (about 45 miles away). Capitola is nowhere near Oakland or Fremont. I don't know why those are mentioned.
